You will need a passport if you are FLYING into Canada from the US. 

 

If you are DRIVING into Canada you will need a passport or a certified copy of your birth certificate (with a raised seal) and a government issued photo ID, such as a driver license with a picture. It's possible that a student ID would be acceptable but we highly recommend a photo ID issued by a government agency such as the MVD.
