Question/Topic
Do I need a passport to travel outside the U.S. or will other IDs suffice?
Answer/Article
In most countries you will need a valid passport and a visa. Some countries will accept a Certified Birth Certificate. Your AAA Travel Agent will know (call 1-877-272-2223) or contact the Consulate for the country you intend to visit.

Many nations will accept your U.S. driver license if you are driving outside the country, but rental car agencies will usually require an International Driving Permit to rent a vehicle.

UPDATE: New Passport rules as of June 8th, 2007.
