Why can’t I post a job?

Why Can’t I Post a Job?

So, you can’t post a job? Don’t fret because there are several reasons this could be happening.  The following section will outline these and what needs to be done to resolve each. If any of the below reasons do not apply please contact your CareerBuilder team for further discussions on why you may not be able to currently post jobs.

Reason 1 – No active job product

If you see either of the following messages on the site it simply means that all jobs have been posted.  Please contact your CareerBuilder team for information on getting more postings.

Example 1:

Example 2:

Reason 2 – Your access level may not be set to add or edit jobs.

Only those listed with ‘manager’ access level on CareerBuilder can edit other account user’s access level.  When attempting to post you may receive an error message such as the following or you may simply not be able to continue past the product selection page, you may not even be able to get that far and view the page.  All are possibilities that relate to access levels.

Example of an error message when attempting to post:

If you do not have access please contact your CareerBuilder team, manager, or see the help section on ‘my accounts’ to check if you have the ability to change access levels.

Reason 3- You may be in a user group that is out of product.

User Groups are subgroups within your account that a manager can set up to split product between divisions within an account.  If the user group you are associated with is out of product you may not be able to post.  Please contact your manager or CareerBuilder team for information on getting more product to your user group.

Example of user group out of product:
