Managing/Creating Templates

Templates:

Templates are a great option for those posting many similar positions manually.  They offer a fast, efficient way of posting as well as a way to keep company information and message consistent.  Some businesses use these for similar positions in various locations or to even keep the same format on all of their postings.  Templates can also protect information with their read-only feature.

***Not all users have the ability to view or create templates.  Please see your manager or CareerBuilder team member for more information if you need access to this area of CareerBuilder.com***

Section 1 – Template Creation

Step One

·         Select the ‘My Templates’ section from the ‘My Jobs’ area of the taskbar.

Step Two

·         Select Add template from the right hand side of the page.

Step Three – Creation

Create the template as if you were posting a job. All of the same rules and features apply to templates that also apply to a job posting.  See our help section on how to post a job or your CareerBuilder team for more information in this area.

Each section can be set to allow edits when used as a posting or to be read-only for sensitive information. Read-only sections can only be edited by users with template access.  Any user posting a job utilizing a template with a read-only section will not be able to edit those particular areas of the posting form. This allows for greater protection of information that needs to remain uniform across postings.

Tip: To select multiple job types and industries hold down control to pick up to 3 of each!

Required sections are marked by an asterisk.

Be sure to create a template name that will be easily recognizable in case edits are necessary at a later date. Note that the template name is only for your use and job seekers do not see this.

To finish, click the ‘create template’ button at the bottom of the form.

Step Four- Activate your template

Once you create the template it will remain in the inactive template tab until final editing is completed and you set for active by clicking the ‘activate’ button.  Once this is done the template is ready to be used on your account.

Section II – Utilizing your templates

To utilize your templates simply select them on the same screen as selecting product when posting a job.  * Note that if your template cannot be seen here it may not be activated.  Refer to the last section on how to activate your templates.*

Once selected be sure all information is present and complete.  You then simply follow the same rules as posting a job and click continue at the bottom to confirm.
