Creating/Managing Folders

What are ‘My Folders’?

So we all know what a folder does, right?  They keep us organized, help separate certain information, make things easier to find, and generally make life easier.  We decided to implement the same basic yet beneficial help on our site. You can save resumes to a folder on CareerBuilder for better management of candidates.  If you’ve ever wondered how to use our folders or are having an issue, we may just answer what’s on your mind and more.

Let’s get started with the basics of how to set up and use a folder:

Section I – Start Up

Step One – Find a Resume

Find any job applicant or resume from the database and select "Save to Folder"

Next select "Create Folder" or save to an existing folder.  You will have to decide whether the folder will be public or private.

Only the creator will have access to a private folder.

Step Two – Accessing the Folder

Section II- Best Practice for Folders

1)  What bulk features are available with resumes?

Bulk features allow users to set the same command to multiple resumes at a time.  There are several bulk features that are functional with folders.

·         You can add multiple resumes to a folder via the bulk feature option.

·         Within a folder you have the same bulk features as within the Resume Database such as deleting resumes and emailing candidates.

2) What can I do with the resumes I save to a folder?

Having resumes in a folder can help you keep track of which candidates you’ve emailed, what stage of the hiring process they are in, organization of candidates by region, or anything else you may need for organization.

3) How will viewing candidates in a folder affect my RDB daily limit?

Simply viewing saved resumes in a folder will not affect your RDB limit at all.  However, emailing candidates or forwarding resumes on will count as a view for each forward or email.

4) If I set my folder to public to begin with can I later set it to private?

Once a folder is created the privacy setting will remain as created on the folder.  In the ‘My Folders’ section you will have the option to either rename or simply delete any folders that are no longer necessary.

5) What happens if I delete a folder?

Not to worry because any resumes in a folder will then be moved to the ‘Saved Resumes’ and ‘My Applications’ sections until individually deleted or the applicants removes their resume from the site or active status.

6) How long will resumes remain in my folders?

Resumes will remain in folders for as long as you have an account with CareerBuilder.com.

7) How long will my folders stay on CareerBuilder?

Folders will never be purged from your account.

8) What happens if I can’t see a saved folder or folder at all?

If either of the above is happening please double check the following:

·         Active product to view resumes (If saved via the resume database)

·         A change in user access has not occurred

·         If you were not the creator of a folder check that the creator did not delete or rename the specific folder.

Still having trouble?

·         Make sure you have clicked the correct account with products you are trying to view.

·         For any other issues, please contact your dedicated Careerbuilder contact.  This information is available in the Contact Center on the help page.
