Managing and Creating Templates

Templates allow you to save time in the job posting process by having saved job descriptions on your accountThe templates can only be created by users with manager level permission.  If you do not have manager level access, contact a person with manager level permission from your company to create the template for you or ask them for approval to get manager level access added to your loginIf you receive approval, they can update your access under the Account Tools section on the account or contact your dedicated Client Support Specialist for assistance

1.)   Click the blue Jobs & Applications button near the top of the My CareerBuilder page.

2.)   Click My Templates on the left side of the pageThis will bring you to the My Templates page.

Creating Templates:

1.)   To create a new template, click the orange Add Template button (this can be accessed from either the Active or Inactive tab).

2.)   This will take you to the Edit a Job Template page.  (It looks exactly like the Job Posting page). 

3.)   Fill out all of the information and choose whether or not you would like the fields to be Editable or Read Only for users who choose the template to post.

4.)   Click Continue at the bottom of the page when you have finished setting up the template.

5.)   This will take you to the Inactive tabFind the name of the template you created and click the Activate link.

6.)   Your template is created and now available under the Active tab.

 

Creating Templates from existing postings:

1.)   To create a template from an existing posting, locate the job you want to create as a template from either the Active, Expired, Deleted or Archived tab on the Jobs & Applications page.

2.)    Click the title of the job.

3.)  There will be a link which says Create Template on the job details page.

Managing Templates:

1.)   Templates can be managed from the My Templates Page.

2.)   Click Edit to the right of the template name to edit a specific template.

3.)   Click Delete to the right of the template name to delete a specific template.

4.)   Click Copy to the right of the template name to copy a specific template.

5.)   Click Post Job to the right of the template name to post a job using that specific template.  The same steps can be followed when clicking Post a Job (located on the left column on the Jobs & Applications page or on the right side of the page under the My Jobs section on Jobs & Applications)

a.    You will then be taken to a page titled Post a Job on CareerBuilder.

b.    Select the product you wish to use, make sure the appropriate template is selected, and click Continue.

 

c.    Next, make sure that all of the information in your job posting is correct on the Post a Job on CareerBuilder page.

d.    Click Continue at the bottom of the page.

e.    Verify that you want to post the job and choose Post Now or Post Later and click Post Job.

 Deactivating/Activating Templates:

1.) Click Deactivate to the right of the template name to deactivate a specific template under the Active tab. 

2.) The template will then be under the Inactive tab.
