Community Health Services (CHS) is not an insurance program. It is a program within the Health Care Authority that promotes access to quality and affordable health care for the uninsured, underinsured, and tribes in Washington State. CHS does this by:
- Promoting access by providing funding to not-for-profit community clinics to assist them in delivering primary health care services to our customers.
- Assisting contractors in achieving operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Promoting stability and expanding the network of community clinics to foster continuity of care.
- Identifying opportunities for improving relationships between the HCA and Washington tribes.
