Question/Topic
What is Community Health Services?
Answer/Article

Community Health Services (CHS) is not an insurance program.  It is a program within the Health Care Authority that promotes access to quality and affordable health care for the uninsured, underinsured, and tribes in Washington State. CHS does this by:

  • Promoting access by providing funding to not-for-profit community clinics to assist them in delivering primary health care services to our customers.
  • Assisting contractors in achieving operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Promoting stability and expanding the network of community clinics to foster continuity of care.
  • Identifying opportunities for improving relationships between the HCA and Washington tribes.
