How do I add a scanning application to the ScanSnap manager?

To add a scanning application to the ScanSnap series of scanners please do the following:

 

·         First install the application per the manufacturer’s instructions.

 

·         Next right click on the ScanSnap icon in the system tray and uncheck “Use Quick Menu” in the Scansnap Manager.

 

·         Afterwards right click again on the Scansnap manger and select Scan Button Settings then click on the Application tab, go down to the Add remove box and click on it.

 

·         Now click on Add, then the Browse button to select the path to your application (including the executable).

 

·         Next go to the Name of Application box, type in its name and click close.

 

·         Your added application is now ready to be used.

 

Special note: The scanning software application must be either PDF or JPEG based to be used by Scansnap scanners.

Below is a list of some popular application installations for Scansnap.

 

 

 

 

Paperport Pro 9.0 (Windows)

 

·         First install the application per the manufacturer’s instructions.

 

·         Next right click on the ScanSnap icon in the system tray.

 

·         Select setting then click on the application tab, go down to the add remove box and click on it.

 

·         Now click on Add, then the Browse button to select the path to your application (including the executable). 

 

                e.g.: C:\program files\scan soft\paperport.exe.

 

·         Next go to the Name of Application box, type in its name and click close.

 

Special note:PaperPort must use its own default folder as the save to location. Using any other save to location may cause Paperport not to operate properly with Scansnap. For proper operation right click on the ScanSnap icon in the system tray, select setting then click on the application tab and select Paperport Pro 9.0. Next select the Save tab and verify that the path is C:\documents and settings\username*\mydocuments\mypaperportdocuments.

 

*Username should be your name as assigned to your system.

 

·         Paperport Pro 9.0 is now ready to be used and will launch itself automatically when selected in the Scansnap Manager prior to scanning.

 

Special note: Follow the same procedure for the newer versions of Paperport.

Abby FineReader (Mac)

 

·         First install the application per the manufacturer’s instructions.

 

·         Next right click on the ScanSnap icon in the system tray.

 

·         Select setting then click on the application tab, go down to the add remove box and click on it.

 

·         Now click on Add, then the Browse button to select the path to the application.

 

 

                e.g.: \Applications\FineReaderforScansnap.app.

 

·        Select it and click Choose.  Check the Name of Application box and if it did not auto populate type in the application name then click O.K. and close.

 

·         FineReader is now ready to be used and will launch itself automatically when selected in the Scansnap Manager prior to scanning.

 

 

 

ReadIris Pro (Mac)

 

·         First install the application per the manufacturer’s instructions.

 

·         Next right click on the ScanSnap icon in the system tray.

 

·         Select setting then click on the application tab, go down to the add remove box and click on it.

 

·         Now click on Add, then the Browse button to select the path to the application.

 

 

                e.g.: \ReadIris Pro 11.5 for Fujitsu\ReadIris for Fujitsu.app.

 

·        Select it and click Choose.  Check the Name of Application box and if it did not auto populate type in the application name then click O.K. and close.

 

·         ReadIris Pro is now ready to be used and will launch itself automatically when selected in the Scansnap Manager prior to scanning.

 

 

 

CardIris (Mac)

 

·         First install the application per the manufacturer’s instructions.

 

·         Next right click on the ScanSnap icon in the system tray.

 

·         Select setting then click on the application tab, go down to the add remove box and click on it.

 

·         Now click on Add, then the Browse button to select the path to the application.

 

 

                e.g.: \CardIris 3.5 for Fujitsu\CardIris for Fujitsu.app.

 

·        Select it and click Choose.  Check the Name of Application box and if it did not auto populate type in the application name then click O.K. and close.

 

·         CardIris is now ready to be used and will launch itself automatically when selected in the Scansnap Manager prior to scanning.
