Domestic (USA destination) wires may take 12 to 72 hours to arrive at the destination financial institution. The receipt time is dependent upon the time the request was received, any weekend or holiday periods, the geographical location of the destination financial institution, and/or the number of correspondent financial institutions involved in the routing process.
International (non-USA destination) wire transfers can take 72 hours in normal cases. It is not out of the ordinary to take up to 2 weeks. Once transmitted outside the United States, are no longer under the jurisdiction of USA banking laws. Accordingly, the Credit Union cannot assume liability or guarantee the timeliness or receipt by the foreign financial institution.
