Question/Topic
Can I receive a 100% grant from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund to build homes through my non-profit organization, then charge the homeowner an affordable monthly payment at a lower interest rate to help sustain my non-profit?
Answer/Article

Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) prefers to form partnerships with organizations that have multiple sources of funding in the project.  Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) monies are highly requested by non-profit agencies throughout the state, so we prefer to award the AHTF funds as part grant and part loan.  In addition, AHTF funds are used as "gap financing" and therefore KHC would not be able to fund 100% of the entire project from these funds.  The homeowners usually have a monthly mortgage payment that is used to pay one or more source of funding the permanent financing of their mortgage.  Feel free to contact Marilyn Stober Harris toll free at 800-633-8896, extension 253 if you need direct assistance.

If you have further questions regarding the AHTF and you are unable to locate the answer on the Info Cener, please submit your question online by selecting the "Ask a Question" option which is located at the top of each screen.
