Question/Topic
What is HOME TBRA?
Answer/Article

HOME TBRA is Tenant-Based Rental Assistance provided by the HOME Program, one of the largest sources of government funding for affordable housing.  Any jurisdiction receiving HOME funds can use part of their allocation for tenant-based rental assistance.  HOME TBRA provides a rental subsidy to households with incomes less than 60% of the area median income.  Individuals can use the subsidy tomake rental housing affordable.  Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) operates two HOME TBRA programs: an external program that awards funds to agencies around the state and an internal program administered by KHC staff.  For more information about the external, or competitive program, please contact Jim Sparks tol free at 800-633-8896, extension 364.  For further information regarding the internal KHC HOME TBRA program, contact Charles Leachman at extension 766.
