I cannot get the game to recognize my controller
Not all PC games support game pads / controllers. Please check the knowledge item that lists minimum system requirements for the game you are playing to see if controller/game pad support is offered.
Windows® 2000 & Windows® XP operating systems
Check that our controller is configured correctly.
- Go to Start, then Settings, then Control Panel.
- Go to Game Controllers.
- Ensure your controller appears here and the controller name is correct and status is Ok.
- Click Properties to calibrate your controller, follow the on-screen instructions.
Ensure your controller is set as the preferred device to use with older programs.
- Click the Start, then Settings, then Control Panel.
- Go to Game Controllers.
- Select your controller from the list, and click Advanced and select your controller as the preferred device from the pull down menu.
Windows Vista™ operating system -
Check that your controller is configured correctly.
- Click the Start Windows® Icon, then Control Panel.
- Go to Game Controllers.
- Ensure your controller appears here and the controller name is correct and status is Ok.
- Click Properties to calibrate your controller, follow the on-screen instructions.
Ensure your controller is set as the preferred device to use with older programs.
- Click the Start Windows® Icon, then Control Panel.
- Go to Game Controllers.
- Select your controller from the list, and click Advanced and select your controller as the preferred device from the pull down menu.
If your controller does not appear correctly under Game Controllers, please ensure you are using the latest driver for it from the manufacturers website. Some of the most common manufacturers are listed here:
