Clicking the icon at the top of the knowledge article will highlight the word(s) that match your search text. Stop words like "a, an, or, the, why, how, I, and, etc." are not highlighted. The remaining words are highlighted if they are found in the knowledge item.
Words highlighted in yellow are exact matches or match because they are a different form or plural of the same word. For example, if you entered "cars" as a search word, the highlighting tool will also highlight the word "car" if it exists in the knowledge item.
Words highlighted in blue are synonyms of words in your search text. For example, assume a synonym has been setup for the words "car" and "auto" because people commonly search for information about cars using the word "auto". The highlighting tool will highlight all occurrences of the word "auto" in blue if the word "car" was entered in the search text and vice-versa.
If you are searching the knowledge base for an "exact phrase", stop words and synonyms do not apply. Only exact matches (character for character) of your search text will be highlighted if found.
Don't see your words highlighted? Some words in an article are included in the index, but not visible when viewing the article.
