Question/Topic
Adult Dependents: Enrollment Rules
Answer/Article

Most of the rules that apply to other dependents also apply to adult dependents. For example, their opportunity to enroll in PEBB health plans is during the annual open enrollment or during a special open enrollment just like other dependents. If you believe you or the prospective adult dependent have a qualifying event call PEBB at 1-800-200-1004.

Remember these key differences regarding adult dependents:

§    If an employee waives his or her enrollment in PEBB medical, the adult dependent may enroll or remain enrolled in medical.

§    If a retiree or survivor defers his or her enrollment in PEBB retiree insurance, the adult dependent may enroll or remain enrolled.

§   The adult dependent must enroll in the same medical and/or dental plan(s) as the subscriber, unless he or she lives outside of the subscriber’s health plan service area or the employee or retiree has waived or deferred coverage.

Rates for Adult Dependents are found on the back of the Adult Dependent Enrollment/Change form.
