Question/Topic
How does the Public Employees Benefits Board program work for interested groups?
Answer/Article
The PEBB program and the HCA design the benefit and eligibility packages to purchase insurance coverage for over 318,000 members. Insurance coverage is purchased through competitive bids and is available through a number of private insurance companies (like Group Health). In addition, the HCA self-insures and administers the Uniform Medical Plan.
