Medicare rules and PEBB rules are different for retirees under age 65 who enroll in Medicare. Here are some key points.
-
Rates for PEBB retirees with disability Medicare who elect a Medicare Supplement plan are different than rates for retirees over age 65.
-
Many people who qualify for Medicare because they have a permanent disability also qualify for Medicaid coverage. Most people with Medicaid coverage can't enroll in a Medicare Supplement plan. Please contact PEBB for more information on how PEBB works with Medicaid.
-
People with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) cannot change their coverage to enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan.
Please notify PEBB as soon as possible if you or a family member under age 65 enrolls in Medicare, so we can adjust your monthly premium.
