Question/Topic
How does UMP cover dialysis?
Answer/Article

UMP covers professional and facility services necessary to perform dialysis when prescribed by an approved provider type.

For dialysis performed in a hospital or skilled nursing facility, UMP's payment is based on whether the hospital or skilled nursing facility is network or non-network (UMP pays 85% of the allowed amount for network and 60% of the allowed amount for non-network).

UMP pays independent dialysis facilities (not located in a hospital) at 80% of the UMP allowed amount.
