Question/Topic
How does UMP cover services provided by a naturopathic physician?
Answer/Article

ALERT! Naturopaths may recommend services that UMP doesn’t cover; all services must meet the definition of medically necessary.

UMP covers services provided by naturopathic physicians the same as for other providers. All services must be medically necessary to be covered. If you receive services that UMP doesn't cover, you may have to pay the full cost of the services.

UMP does not cover herbs and other nonprescription drugs, lotions, vitamins, or minerals even if your provider prescribes them. Also see the list of exclusions for some other services and items not covered by UMP. See our online provider directory to find a network provider.
