How does UMP cover genetic counseling and testing?

Except for genetic screening and counseling done during pregnancy, you must receive preauthorization from UMP for genetic testing services. UMP covers only services provided by a certified genetic counselors. Ask your provider to refer you to a certified genetic counselor.

UMP does not cover genetic testing for family planning purposes.
