UMP updated the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) fee schedule effective January 1, 2009. We added dozens of procedures codes that are allowed in an ASC setting. ASCs are able to provide and bill for any procedure currently payable in an outpatient hospital setting. In addition, both the GI/pain management and general conversion factors for ASCs increased by two percent as of January 1, 2009.
