The following services are not covered by Medicare Part A or Medicare Part B. Please bill UMP directly for these services; do not submit a claim to Medicare. Section references indicate billing instructions included elsewhere in this manual:

• Acupuncture

• Annual physical, except for the one-time “Welcome to Medicare” physical allowed upon enrollment in Medicare (see list of preventive care services covered by UMP)

• Chemical dependency services

• Hearing aids and hearing exams for the purpose of getting a hearing aid

• Massage therapy

• Medical coverage outside the United States

• Naturopathic medicine

• Prescription drugs not covered by Medicare Part B

• Vision exams and hardware

• Wigs for cancer patients
