Please use the following codes for H1N1 imunization (these codes refer to any route of vaccine administration):

• 90470—H1N1 immunization administration (intramuscular, intranasal), including counseling when performed
• 90663—Influenza virus vaccine, pandemic formulation, H1N1

If other vaccines are administered concurrently, please use 90470 with the appropriate add-on code(s).

UMP will also accept Medicare's H1N1 reporting codes (these codes refer to any route of vaccine administration):

• G9141—Influenza A (H1N1) immunization administration (includes the physician counseling the patient/family)
• G9142—Influenza A (H1N1) vaccine, any route of administration

The UMP allowed amounts for the new H1N1 vaccine administration codes above are the same as for existing vaccine administration code 90471. Because the H1N1 vaccine is being provided at no charge, UMP will not pay providers for the vaccine itself.
