It depends on the situation. The employment of relatives may cause serious conflicts and problems with favoritism and associate morale. In addition to claims of partiality in treatment at work, personal conflicts from outside the work environment can be carried into working relationships.  For the purposes of this policy, a relative is any person who is related by blood or marriage, or whose relationship with the associate is similar to that of persons who are related by blood or marriage.  Relatives of associates employed by AAA Hoosier Motor Club may be hired provided the applicant does not work in the same department, be supervised by relatives, or work in related areas which are sensitive in nature (i.e. An insurance agent whose spouse is employed in the Insurance Department). AAA Hoosier Motor Club associates cannot be transferred into such a reporting relationship.  If the relationship is established after employment, the situation will be handled by Human Resources to ensure the resolution is in the best interest of AAA Hoosier Motor Club
