Yes, you are required to have a PIN on your debit card, however you do have an option to select a signature based transaction a many merchant machines by selecting "Credit".
You can change your Debit or Credit Card PIN in the following ways:

For Credit Cards, call
(866) 238-5318
Visit a Monterra Credit Union Branch or ATM
Download our Card Manager App
and use the "Manage Card" function
