My account was charged a non-sufficient funds fee, even though I had recently deposited some checks and thus had sufficient funds. Why did this happen?

A fee is charged when there are insufficient funds available to cover a debit. Available funds do not include those on hold, such as check holds and merchant holds. We will use the available balance and not your actual balance to determine if you have sufficient funds to cover your transactions.

You can check and see what funds are on hold in your checking account by logging into RCU Online Banking and clicking on the "Holds" icon in the Account Summary. If you have further questions, please call us at 1 (800) 479-7928 and we will be glad to assist you.
