Google Pay is now available for most RCU Visa Credit Cards and RCU Debit Cards! 

  • What is Google Pay?
    • Google Pay is a payment app that allows you to add your credit card or debit card to your supported Android device in order to make purchases at participating merchants.
  • How do I add my RCU Credit Card for use with Google Pay?
    • Download the Google Pay app from the Google Play Store and open the app. Once the app is downloaded you can add your card to Google Pay by following the steps/prompts:
      • Open the Google Pay app
      • On the screen “Choose a card for Google Pay”, click on the “+” button to add your RCU Visa credit card or your RCU debit card
      • Enter or confirm your card details
      • Review and accept the Terms & Conditions
      • Confirm your screen lock settings
      • When prompted, call the phone number on the screen to complete the verification process
  • How do I use Google Pay?
    • Unlock your device – no need to open the app.
    • Tap your device against the contactless payment terminal.
    • Your phone will beep and display a check mark to show your payment was made
  • Where can I use Google Pay?
    • GooglePay is accepted at over one million stores across the US and available in Android apps.
    • More retailers are adding the technology to receive payments from Google Pay every day.
    • Check the Google Pay site  for a list of retailers accepting Google Pay.
  • How do I know if a transaction is complete?
    • After your purchase is complete you’ll see a payment confirmation that shows where the transaction took place, the merchant name and the amount of the purchase.
  • Is Google Pay secure?
    • Google Pay doesn’t send your actual card information with your payment. A virtual account number is used to represent your account information so your card details stay safe.
  • Does RCU charge for using Google Pay?
    • We offer Google Pay free of charge.
  • Will my Redwood Rewards points accrue when I use Google Pay?
    • Yes! When you use your RCU credit card or RCU debit card with Google Pay, you will accrue points as normal.
  • Do all RCU cards work with Google Pay?
    • RCU Visa credit cards and RCU debit cards are compatible with Google Pay.
  • What if my phone is stolen?
    • If your phone is lost or stolen you can use the Android Device Manager to instantly lock your device from anywhere, secure it with a new password, or wipe it clean of your personal information.
  • What if my RCU card is stolen?
    • Delete the card from Google Pay using your device.
    • Add your new card account number once you receive your replacement card.
    • Remember – you are not liable for any fraudulent transactions, so review your account activity and contact us for help.
