What is phishing?

Phishing is the act of attempting to gain sensitive information from an individual by purporting to be someone who has good intentions. Criminals often using phishing tactics to gain access to accounts. They may be attempting to “confirm” account information or personal information such as: Date of Birth, Social Security Number, Driver’s License Number, etc. Sometimes they will even ask for login information for Online Banking access. They will give as little information as possible and are hopeful that their victims will unwittingly divulge sensitive information.
