2017 Sonoma County Flood Relief Fund Distribution Information

The RCU Sonoma County Flood Relief Fund received over $17,700 from more than 65 donors and grants from PG&E and Verizon. All funds have been disbursed to flood victims and to aid relief efforts. The fund was created by RCU Community Fund, Inc. (RCUCF) in partnership with Redwood Credit Union, the Press Democrat and Sonoma County Supervisors James Gore and Lynda Hopkins.

The generous contributions of donors supported the needs of Sonoma County residents in the following ways:

  • Twenty-nine checks for $450 each were distributed to the flood victims (identified through Supervisors Gore and Hopkins and the American Red Cross) for a total of more than $13,000.

  • Nearly $4,700 has been provided to the Russian Riverkeepers for the Clean River Alliance for flood clean-up and restoration efforts, and to provide ongoing support (i.e.; small hand tools, safety gear, fees).

Thank you for your support of our Sonoma County neighbors in need!
