General information:

  • The North Bay Fire Relief Fund provided funds to directly assist with immediate needs of fire survivors who lost homes or experienced economic hardship due to lost or interrupted employment as a result of the fires.
  • Relief fund checks were initially distributed through local nonprofit partners to fire survivors in the four impacted counties (Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino and Lake) who applied for support through our partners United Way of the Wine Country (Sonoma County), CVNL (Napa County) and North Coast Opportunities (Mendocino and Lake Counties).
  • Additional funding to those who applied, were approved and who lost homes and/or experienced economic hardship due to lost or interrupted employment was provided by the Redwood Credit Union Community Fund via mailed check. Not everyone who received an initial check qualified for additional funding.

If you lost your home, or are having economic hardship from lost or interrupted employment due to the fires:

  • In Sonoma, Mendocino, and Lake Counties, applications through our funding partners (United Way of the Wine Country and North Coast Opportunities) closed on November 30, and in Napa, applications (through CVNL) closed on December 8.

  • The following nonprofits received funding from the North Bay Fire Relief Fund, so they can provide assistance to North Bay fire survivors. Services include financial assistance, food, housing, family support and other vital services. If you are a fire survivor, please contact the nonprofits listed below and click on the link to see the array of nonprofits and services available to assist you with your immediate needs:

Please note: If you completed an application with United Way of the Wine Country, NCO or CVNL and received a check but don’t think you received support from the North Bay Fire Relief Fund, please be assured the check was from the North Bay Fire Relief Fund.

If you applied for funds but your address has changed since submitting your application:

  • Please be sure your address is updated with the U.S. Postal Service at or visit your local post office.
  • For checks issued directly from RCU Community Fund to fire survivors, we're using the address you provided on the original application you submitted to our nonprofit funding partner (United Way, NCO, or CVNL). If you moved, please email us at with “Address Change” in the subject line and provide us your current mailing address.
