Because of the statutory requirements in the Bankruptcy Code, RCU does not send coupons once a Member files bankruptcy. After the bankruptcy discharges, a Member may request coupons for their loan. The Member must submit the request in writing and include language such as,

I (Member’s name), request to have coupons sent to me for (account# - loan#).  I understand that RCU is not attempting to collect a debt by fulfilling this request.  Further, I understand that I can cancel this request at any time via written communication” (or similar language). 

All Members on the loan who have filed for bankruptcy must sign the request.
