AAA Members can take advantage of select California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) services conveniently located at most AAA branches within California.
Available In-Branch DMV Services:
- Vehicle Registration: Renewals (car, boat, trailer), duplicates (certificates, stickers), temporary permits, reinstatement of suspended registrations, out-of-state vehicle registration, Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) registration/renewal.
- Titles & Ownership: Duplicate titles, vehicle ownership transfers.
- License Plates & Placards: Ordering personalized or duplicate plates, disabled license plates, temporary disabled placards. (Note: For permanent disabled placards, the CA DMV recommends applying directly via dmv.ca.gov).
- Permits: International Driving Permits (IDP).
What to Bring (Requirements): To process DMV transactions, the vehicle's registered owner must be an active AAA Member and present:
- Your valid AAA Membership card
- Your valid California Driver's License or Identification Card
- All required DMV paperwork for your specific transaction
Payment Information:
- Accepted: Cash, Debit Cards, Credit Cards.
- Credit Card Surcharge: Please note, a surcharge may apply when paying for CA DMV transactions with a credit card (information current as of March 2021 indicated up to 1.72%; this amount is subject to change). No surcharge applies for cash or debit card payments.
- Not Accepted: Checks.
