How can I determine whether we were issued a Mortgage Credit Certificate?

CalHFA has not issued Mortgage Credit certificates for several years. If your CalHFA loan is older than 2019, then please try these steps:

1. Talk to the loan officer/broker who originated your mortgage.
2. Talk to your current loan servicer.
3. Call our Loan Servicing division directly at 800.669.1079.

CalHFA does not lend money directly to consumers. CalHFA works through and uses approved private lenders to qualify consumers and to make all mortgage loans. CalHFA purchases closed loans that meet CalHFA's requirements. The fees consumers pay could be different depending on the lender and the program.
