According to Heartland Payment Systems, this data did NOT contain cardholder Social Security numbers, unencrypted personal identification numbers (PIN), addresses or telephone numbers, therefore making it highly unlikely it can be used for identity theft. As a cardholder, you will not be held financially responsible for any unauthorized transactions that are timely reported to your card issuer. You should regularly monitor your card and bank statements and report all suspicious activity to your card issuer (in the case of Visa and MasterCard cardholders, that would be the financial institution that issued the card, not the card brand).

Progressions Credit Union is sending a letter to each of our members who's Visa debit and/or credit cards have been effected as we receive notification from Visa of the card numbers involved. We will issue new cards to all members with card numbers reported to us by Visa, and block the old cards once the new cards have sufficient time to be received by members. There is no cost to members.

Progressions Credit Union offers FREE Identity Theft Recovery services to our members through the ID SafeChoice Program as well as a preventative Identity Theft service through the ID SafeChoice Plus Program at a reasonable cost. Both programs provide identity theft coverage not only on your accounts here at the credit union, but anywhere and for all types of identity theft. Click on the links below for additional information on both of these programs.
