To create a file exchange

Required Role: File Editor
  • Click "Files" from the left navigation menu
  • Locate the file to be exchanged
  • Click the "Exchange File" action icon
    • Enter a description of the file.  The default description will be Exchange for: 'file name'
    • Select the recipient user(s) from the Select Users tab by clicking the checkbox to the left of their name
    • Select the recipient group(s) from the Select groups tab by clicking the checkbox to the left of the group name
  • Once the desired recipients have been selected click "Create"
  • A success notification will appear showing that the exchange was created successfully
  • In the File Library there will be a View Exchanges bar to the right of the file and if you click on it, it will bring you to Exchanged Items, Exchanged To Users tab which displays all of the files and folders that you have granted access to and other information about the exchange including:
    • Name
    • Description
    • Direction
    • User Name
    • Users (Number of Users)
    • Groups (Number of Groups)
    • Created
  • There is also an Actions column which allows for the following actions on the exchange:
    • Edit Exchange
    • Delete


Some recipients may not receive the exchange based on their own file restriction settings
