To share a file for public download:   

  • Locate the file you want to share
  • Click on the ellipsis menu to the right of the file
  • Click Share
  • A Create New Link window will appear to set up the file share link
    • Share Name:
      • The default name will show as - Share for file: (file name inserted here)
      • If you wish to change the name simply type the desired name of your link in the text box that you want shown on the public file download page
    • Share Options:
      • One-Time: The public file download link can only be downloaded once before the expiration date is reached (if one is set)
      • Multiple: The public file download link may be downloaded multiple times until the expiration date is reached (if one  is set)
    • Expiration Date (Required):
      • This is a required feature which allows you to set the number of days the public file download will be available for the recipient(s) to retrieve the shared file.  After the date selected the file will no longer be available for download
    • Pin Code (Required):
      • This is a required feature which allows you to place a PIN number in order to access the public file download page
  • Once the information and additional options have been completed click the Create button and an active download link will be created.  The Link Status, Share Option, Expiration Date and PIN Code will appear in the Current External Shares pane.
  • After creating the download link you can share it by either:
    • Clicking on the envelope icon  to add it directly to an email body in your preferred email client
    • Clicking on the copy link icon and copying the URL from the text box.  You can then paste the link into your preferred medium
      • To remove the download link click the delete icon
      • A window will appear asking: Are you sure you want to delete this share?
      • Click Delete  
  • After all the steps have been completed click Close

  • In the folder view there will be an icon to the right of the file signaling that it is an Active Download Link.  Click on this icon to bring up a window with the link information

Once a public file download link is created it cannot be edited but another one can be created
File restriction settings may prevent the sharing of a file for public download
