The organization must have the feature that allows organizational file type restrictions to be set.

An administrator with the File Type Restriction Editor role will set file type restrictions that will apply to the entire parent and child organization (if applicable).

Once the restrictions are set:
  • External users cannot upload a restricted file type via a ShareLink to a personal digital vault or the organization digital collaboration vault

  • Internal users cannot exchange a restricted file type with the organization and an individual or group cannot receive an exchange of a restricted file type to their personal digital vault

  • Individuals can enter additional file type restrictions but cannot override the restrictions set by the administrator

  • When a new child account is created, the parent organization file restriction settings copy over to the new child account

  • The restrictions do not apply to uploads done using the Upload action in a personal digital vault or the organization collaboration digital vault
    • Individual users can still upload restricted file types in their personal digital vault and share them with external users via a ShareLink
    • If applicable, users with access to the organization collaboration digital vault can upload restricted types using the Upload action

Administrators must have the "File Type Restriction Editor" role assigned to them to manage organizational file restrictions
